Using the mask edge, I like that it's easier to pick up stray hairs and objects, but I often got confused trying to adjust the radius. With refine edge, you really need to be spot on with your selection.
-What advantages/disadvantages did you discover between masking and removing your background?
4. Did you find the channels section of the book challenging? How do you think you might use it in future projects? Did you complete the extra credit?
Channels are pretty complicated. It's on a level I'm not comfortable working with at this point, but I will practice them.
It caught me off guard that the background was still there. It was disorienting to move the mask around like a selection.
- Describe your experience using the Refine Edge Tool. Did it allow you to more closely define your edges?

Yes, though I personally I need to work more on stray hairs. I did it perfect in the book lesson, but struggled on this assignment.

This all was completely new to me, so just sorting out all the mask option was pretty challenging!
2. What was the intended result you hoped to create with the puppet warp tool? What options do you see the puppet warp tool might offer you in future projects?
Puppet wrap is a pretty crazy effect! I intended to move around Domo's arm in a couple of photos, and I used it to distort the Hello Kitty Toaster. Whenever I'm trying to impress friends or make a silly photo, I may have to pull out puppet wrapper.

3. When would you use quick mask tool instead of the mask palette?
I prefer the mask palette in general since I'm more familiar with the interface, but I'll experiment with quick mask from time to time.
