Project 3 - Kasey Myers

1. Which selection tools did you think worked best for specific types of elements in an image?

I generally use the Magnetic Lasso, regular Lasso, and the Magic Wand. I might use the Quick Select more often now, but I find I get enough flexibility from the previously mentioned ones.

2. What tools and strategies that you used to create your simple composite will you use in future projects?

The primary one that I can foresee using is the Move Tool and the arrows. I imagine we'll be moving things around a lot in future lessons. Other than that I imagine the select tools will be needed in various formats.

3. In this module, you created the transparent images. How do you believe these images will be used in your future web design projects? What file type did you save your transparent images as?

I saved my files as gif to begin with but then I realized we needed to do a drop shadow. If you save as gif the drop shadow is no longer transparent so I saved it as png. I know that layers are a big part of photoshop so I expect we'll use transparency in a lot of ways.

4. What challenges did you experience in the process?

Refining my selects. The Quick Select seems to leave ragged edges. I've said it before, and this activity made it more true. I want a tablet.

5. What keyboard shortcuts are you using regularly now?

ctrl d

ctrl shift alt s

ctrl alt i

and of course the standard ctrl c, v, x

6. Add link of your completed web page to your blog
